DIY Downdraft Sanding Table

Now that I have a dust collector on the way I need to start planning out my dust collection system.  One area where I get a lot of really fine dust that I would like to prevent is sanding with a random orbit sander and hand routing.  Both activities could have the dust limited significantly through the use of a downdraft table.  Rockler has a decent kit for 25 dollars or so but Why buy something when you can build exactly what you want.  So i’m thinking of building a small downdraft table to use for cutting out speaker fronts with a router as well as hand sanding smaller items.

I found a good link on a larger sized build Here at woodworkersworkshop.com
